Once again West Hagbourne attracted many visitors to admire the dragons displayed around the village. So very many thanks to everyone who participated in the dragon competition.
A popular attraction to people passing through the village was the enormous colourful dragon in the pond. Special thanks go to Mike Parker and family and helpers for this splendid dragon.
The judge, Mrs. Carol Hackett from Didcot, had a difficult task. She was impressed with the variety of materials used in amazing ways to construct so many different dragons. Her final decision was:
1st. Prize: Broomsticks, the pink and purple dragons
2nd. Prize: 1,Manor Close, the 2 knitted dragons
Children’s Prize: the dragon peering over the wall of the Horse and Harrow pub.
Highly Commended:
4, Manor Close, dragon made from driftwood and shells
Cornerways, the flying dragon
